Steps

Sometimes we are called by the Lord to step back and away from what we were originally called to do so that He can raise up others to finish what was started. Sometimes those who finish it do so with such beauty that can only point to God’s magnificent glory and draws even more people to follow Him. To sit back and watch it occur is both humbling and amazing.

And He will lead us to new lands (or old ones) where new paths are crossed. And all of it is for a reason only He knows. Although steps into the unknown can be frightening, in the end it is always worth it when He is leading. We mustn’t let fear hinder these little steps. Because if we do, then no steps would be taken at all. That’s how we get stuck in the routine of the mundane life.

The end result of life can be great, but the journey to get there is quite an adventure. To be fully immersed in life and take notice of each lovely interaction is something inexplainable and only known through experience. What would life be without relationships with people?

Rather than be an obstacle in God’s kingdom and get stuck doing things we think we enjoy, we must encourage one another to regularly seek direction from Him and be sensitive for His call, even if it means stepping away from something we truly love and desire. If we believe in His promises, then we know He will do something far greater than these dear things we cling to so tightly. He does forget and does not turn away. So step back and watch Him work.

15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” (‭Genesis‬ ‭28‬:‭15‬ ESV)

11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭11-12‬ ESV)
