Standing as one.

These are just some thoughts that the Lord has put on my heart lately and I feel led to share them..

How are we to stand against the world when the Christians fight amongst themselves? How are we to share of His love and mercy when we can’t even show that to the Christians around us. Sometimes in the church we are quick to criticize, quick to judge, and quick to react in bitterness. But if we can’t even act lovingly towards one another in the church, how can the church stand as one under the Lord? We are missing the big picture. Concerning ourselves with the little things that don’t matter are completely distracting us from the call of the  Lord. The call from Him to love one another, spread the Gospel, and tell others how He saved us. We cannot forget or lose sight of that. Remember when He first saved you. Remember when you fell to your knees in awe and wonder at His love. Remember the sense of His presence and how He unexplainably touched your heart. These are the things we are to share. The little distractions in the church don’t matter in the long run. Our focus is on Him and glorying His name. We boast in Jesus alone, not our own strength. It’s always good to check the heart and see where the Lord currently stands in our personal lives. Are our motives in the right place? Are we serving Him with the right mindset? If not, He gracefully will lead us back to the main path and continue to guide us in this life.

“So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:12

“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” Romans 12:3-5
